IMO, that number plate is worth next-to-nothing to the vast majority of people so won't add anything to the value of the car.

If you think it's worth £750+ just spend the £80 to put it on retention and sell it separately...

Agreed. Looks a nice enough car, but the number plate adds zero value to the car. Ads that say this generally imply that the seller is a bit of a dreamer in terms of price/value, and turn me right off (personally speaking).

£5k is probably the top end for an early SE (assuming no desirable extras - sport seats, nav) on the verge of 100k miles (based on watching the market for a couple of months), so I'd expect to get knocked down a little if it doesn't sell straight away (being the wrong time of year for selling convertibles).

Good luck.

nice car, very similar spec to mine that I bought a couple of months ago

pm if you want to know what I paid, it may have an impact on what you think yours is worth.

cheers

As regards to price, looking on ebay they still seem to be holding ther value around £5-6K for the same age and spec

Regarding the plate I recently bought a car with a plate left on it supposedly valued at £850 (A2 BPH) because the dealer rightly knew it could sit on one of those BS' plate sites for literally years and then attract an offer of about 2-300! It's handy on an older car but otherwise worthless to me. Unless it means something to you I'd leave it on as an incentive for a 'smart' buyer to spot an opportunity to make a killing, or for when Mark John Brown turns up to buy

Nice tidy looking 3.0se. Not the best time of year to achieve top dollar which IMO £5k is based on what's sold recently. That said, if your in no hurry why not, you never know. GLWTS
