Now lowered on H&R springs

Took my 2.5Si to my mates garage yesterday and had the gearbox oil changed (he said old oil looked fine) and coolant changed. Intended to have the diff oil changed too but he said no need, and also the CDV removed but didn’t get round to it and he also said he knows about it and believes this is only there to avoid side-stepping the clutch - he doesn’t think it will be noticeable when removed and is more a placebo or someone not matching the revs properly to drive the car with it on.

Anyway we also removed the old springs and fitted H&R which caused a headache at first as the top of the H&R springs don’t match the top of the OEM M Sport spring so the top cap sits in a different place - it doesn’t seem to cause any issues but they wondered if I had the wrong springs at first.

All fitted and struts appear to need replacing so wish I’d bought some at the same time but hindsight is a beautiful thing...

Needed a new track rod end assembly both sides so that camber/toe can be adjusted on the John Bean machine - car now handles loads better and aware the H&R need a few weeks to settle so guessing it might drop a little lower again yet - but it’s looking nice and low now and just need a set of 19’s to finish it off although I do like the wheels on the coupe pic and pretty sure they’re 20’s

One could say, it's on its arse! Personally I think 19's suit the coupe better than the roadster. Just my own opinion, obviously.

They look too big to be 19’s on that coupe though - I’m sure they’re 20’s but it could also just be due to the 108’s looking more like 17’s than 18’s due to the split rim section

and only gonna settle lower !!

Ha how much lower? Prior to this I had a 4 series vert dropped on H&R and on 20’s and you couldn’t get a jack under it at all and this is already like that now! Ha!

Would be a little low for my daily commute but looks good

You can definitely notice the CDV delete. It is most noticeable when pressing on; the CDV stops the clutch engaging instantly between fast gear changes causing it to slip as you get back on the throttle. In that situation you are essentially trying to side step the clutch, lifting it as fast as possible.
I would recommend removing it. It only protects the gearbox from complete Muppets. :D

That does look low - I hope you don't get issues with scraping the front!

I'd also recommend removing the CDV - I'm on my 3rd BMW without one and they just drive so much better with it gone.

Damn I hope not - it’s on brand new H&R (35mm drop mentioned on the box) so assuming it shouldn’t be any lower than any other lowered on H&R ha!
