NOW GONE!! (Forum Donation?): Hockey Sticks

Hi Guys & Gals (3 i think?)

I have decided with much debate with myself.... I will not be tinting my orange headlight indicator inserts. This is due to the fact that I think the tinted look would be wrong on a sterling grey Z4 with silver inserts (Bi-Xenon) I think clear indicators are the way to go…. Tinting only really works on a black Z4

I have now purchased a couple of damaged facelift headlights and I'm currently in the process of opening them up to remove the clear indicator lenses. Dismantled one today.... made a mess of my garage but was ok to cut open! :D

This now leaves me with 3 (2 right, 1 left) orange lenses, which I was recently kindly given to by Andrewr & Leesfarm07. I’d like to donate these to someone if they are willing to donate to the forum as I did…

I’m happy to post these out to a forum member who wants spares as a just in-case…

I'd like to thank Andrew & David for their efforts in digging these out of the depths of their garages!

Once I have sorted my clear project I will have another set of orange lenses! Watch this space!

Terry

Yes please! I am planning to make some moulds and see if I can cast up some tinted clear ones and these would allow me to get started without splitting my lights first! Will pm you my details!

Cheers - Andy

No worries ill pack them up today and ill get them sent within the next few days

Edit: I've PM'd you the tracking number

 ha ha these lenses have done some miles recently. At least they are generating forum donations :D

That's true! Terry I found another one I had lying around, so you could have ended up with 4!

Andrew

Sorry about that chaps! Had to go clear just wouldn't look right and I have OCD!

Tinting works on black zeds IMO as stated before....

I'm planning on doing my clears during winter time this year (I'll need something to do from Oct to April 2015)

Bet the jobs done before... but that's my plan

Good luck! Take your time and it's really not that difficult.

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew... I've now cut open two donor lights and was easy enough

Will be taking extra time indeed with my actual lights, just have an issue with the orange domes as they are smashed on the donors!
I need to source some silver/chrome amber lamps with offset pins from somewhere or LED's :headbang:

It may be a long shot, but you could buy a couple of glass test tubes and saw off the end to leave you with a dome. Then paint it orange. I remember thinking about this as another option before locating the orange domes.
