In preparation for selling my beloved Zed, I decided to have all of the wheels professionally refurbed at a highly respected local refurb place that take a week to do a full set of alloys and promise a flawless finish or you dont pay.

Took the car to them this morning looking like this

and brought it back looking like this

just clayed, cleaned, (including AG hood cleaner) and polished the whole car and with those wheels on it looks like a scrapper......... before you ask, they are not for sale

first time i've ever seen a zed with that type of wheels, not sure i'm that keen hehe

Yes, not sure if it looks better with the top up or down

Good of them to loan me a set.......a lad took a black SLK in and came out with a set of white painted AMG style alloys, I think I prefer my steelies

Going for the Rat Look eh :poke:

Its staying on the drive all week, however. I may take the opportunity to revamp the calipers and hubs in preparation for the big refit on Friday. I love this car and I'm thinking I'll miss it when it goes.

Seriously I had always wondered what a decent set of D-type wheels would look like on a roadster.....kind of gone off the idea now

Today, my neighbour asked if my alloys had been nicked........ I was so tempted to say yes in order to minimise my embarrassment..... its not left the drive all week

Shame you gotta sell :( they give the car a kind of 60s retro look in the first pic but dont think i'll swap for my 108s all the best with the sale

Being totally honest and without a hint of sarcAsm, I have to say I do quite like that look. Reminds me a bit of a style that used to be available on the z3 in 15 inch flavour. That said I do prefer more unusual wheels.

+1. There's a touch of the Mad Max about it. I say refurb those ones in shadow chrome and stand out from the crowd 8)
