I had two good quotes come through this year for the renewal.
The motorway trudging 2.0 Tdi Snoozefest on 30k miles per year was £100 cheaper at renewal, so I don't get to bitch about rewarding loyalty.
The Zed (with CK) had gone up £60.
Now there was a change of address, to a similarly pleasant post code, so I thought I'd do the comparison sites and the current insurers.
esure first and £25 off the SEAT for going multicar - so that's £125 less than last year already.
Then, £80 cheaper for the Z compared to CK, although excess went up from £250 to £500.
Told them I'd ring back if the other insurer could not beat it. I rang back in 20 mins.
Unfortunately CK could not get anywhere near on the Diseasel price and fair enough. They don't specialise in high mileage middle of the road stuff, and I know esure were already a good price.
What was disappointing was that when I told them of the best price from esure for the zed, they said the underwriter would need proof of the other quote.
I told them to go on a comparison site, it would be easy enough, but no.
Fair enough, I suppose they don't do the legwork for a premium with little profit ( apart from the 100% profit if we don't claim
)
So thanks to CK for last year's good price and I'm sorry your underwriters aren't as enthusiastic to get my business this year.
PS I blame everyone on the forum that went through CK and has had a smash this year, It's all your fault.
Here's to another year's incident free motoring for all.
:cheers:
