Looks like this may rumble on a bit as more evidence is gathered regarding his conveniently-timed Covid infection...

NB - this isn't intended to be a Covid thread, I'm interested in seeing if these investigations end up showing that a very wealthy sportsman has falsified records to evade Australian entry rules

Wow, imagine if the BBC put this much effort into finding and exposing corruption within our governments or even within itself, finding paedos for example.

If he falsified the results then he should be dealt with, OZ can ban him or whatever they want to do and his own government can do what they feel is necessary.

If its been a home PCR and he is anything like some people I know this isnt exactly some sort of massive gotcha, my Mrs is a nurse and has cupboards full of tests, she definitely doesn't make sure she does them in serial number order as I very much doubt anyone does. If its been a lab based test then the lab is the one that needs to answer the question no?

They're lab tests so all certificate numbers should be sequential

Yes, the lab needs to answer some questions as the serial number & date of the certificate don't align with others issued from that lab

Be very strange if the only error of this type from that lab was for a certificate that was used by ND to gain entry to Australia - not that I'm suggesting that quantities of beer tokens may have changed ownership

Gotcha, yeah definitely the lab have some questions to answer in that case though I suspect (and hope) that there is a perfectly rational reason for it otherwise this could be a corruption issue within Serbia.

I do really get a strong smell of witch hunt around this though.

No more than for any other figures in the public eye that may have done something wrong... - 'working lunches' at No.10, Prince Andrew, Lance Armstrong to name but a few

#10 and Andy are nothing like the same situation, they are tax payer funded elected officials and by birth UK public/international representatives.
I had to google lance but yes that's similar, did the BBC do a deep dive investigation into him though?

I think it was the Sunday Times that did the original investigation into Armstrong (over a number of years) and broke the story but the BBC had a lot of coverage of it and it led to an episode of Panorama on doping in sport.

In the article I linked, the BBC was just following up on findings of a German group. As the ND story has been headline news over the past few weeks it's not as though they're digging up ancient dirt (as happened with Ollie Robinson who ended up suspended from international cricket for inappropriate texts sent nearly ten years ago).

Doping in sport is a pretty serious issue as it undermines the whole sport and effects everyone involved and interested.

Yeah I wasn't entirely sure, they threw me off by saying "BBC research has cast doubt..." at the very beginning  That makes it sound like they are investing quite a bit of time and expense into it.
No idea who Ollie is either but then I don't follow stickball never mind tea and sandwiches flatstick ball
