I think they genuinely appreciate nice cars there and there is an attitude of "gone on 'ya" for having a nice car. In our country, people tend to think c*** when someone has a nice car.
Funny enough, a lorry driver shouted "w****r" at me for just driving along doing nothing wrong whatsoever with the roof down the other day in my white work shirt and my Ray Bans on. Says it all....
As an American in the deep South I am wondering what is a w****r oh wait I think I get it! Yes, never mind.
But the other one, the c **** word maybe you could send me a private translation message. Thanks
As to the topic, at first I seemed to get compliments at the gas station (silver E89). That was a while back. Now no-one seems to notice or care what anyone else drives or what it might look like. If I do any mods it would just be for my own benefit. The E89 is fairly rare here. They sold poorly, probably because of the Corvette (C7), compared to Europe. There are quite a few 911s and Caymans and some M cars around and of course Corvettes everywhere.
I do feel like a jerk (w****r) if I wear a BMW cap that was given to me at the BMW performance center at the factory here. So I guess I can relate.
Gas (petrol) only costs about $2.80 US gallon, for 93 Octane so we have a lot of SUVs, Mustangs and Camaros. The Ford F150 truck is the best selling of any American made vehicle. The Turbo 6 can easily stay with the 35I, but I digress.
I envy your easy access to country roads and high speed limits there and on the continent.
This forum is fun to follow and more informative than the USA forums
Thanks
