One of driving heroes was Ari Vatenan. Even he got it very wrong at times.
He broke his back trying.
About 20 years ago I admired a guy in a London car club for his driving skill. He just didn't know when not to use it. He got done for shunting a car on the road that was slowing him down for driving at the speed limit. Jason Humble went inside for that. He was a brilliant driver but didn't control his competitive spirit http://212.58.226.17:8080/1/low/uk/72056.stm
In short - we all want to drive like that but must admit how far behind we really are.
Buying a great car does not make you a great driver. Think buying a Steinway grand piano will make you a better pianist?
