top down getting a Tan in Scotland
Most Scottish trips on here are to the highlands but an alternative is Galloway. Great roads views and food and a lot closer to Englandshire. A couple of pics from my trip down there last week

The Borders are for wimps :D

Not quite the Borders, well not with England, all of the pics are only about 20 miles from Northern Ireland. Doing the borders down to Keilder at the weekend

It is Portpatrick, I have eaten in Campbells in the past but this time we were staying in the Waterfront(blue building in the middle of the first pic) and the food there was very good. Portpatrick is great for seafood.

Looks really nice up there, i might have to go and take a look!

is there much going on in the area for a good weekend away?

It's a great spot, you can see the entrance to Belfast harbour on a good day and even I've been told the Isle of Man,

We have only eaten in Campbells, the Mrs loves seafood usually followed by the best ice Cream in the world at Cream of galloway on the way home.

I was there mid week and did Castle and gardens ( yes I am getting old) the are a few pubs and lots of friendly people. A couple of pubs had signs up for live music at the weekends.. not a disco night life type of place though. Take a run down to the Mull of Galloway and you can see the lake district, Isle of Man and N Ireland , it is spectacular in stormy weather.

im not much for the 'disco' night life. i prefer a nice weekend with 'the passenger' and a few pints in whatever local.

sounds good though. we have been looking for a place to go for a weekend soon and it looks quite nice!
