not starting fuel pump?

can anyone help went to start car today as i turned on the ignition i didnt hear the normal sound as the fuel pump pressures up normally lasts about 1 or 2 seconds the car spins over fine but wont fire up checked fuses all fine is there a fuel pump problem with zeds or anything else i can look at 53 plate 2.5i help! its a dry day wanted to go out and scrub in my new set of non runflats!
 
Could it be the immobiliser kicked in? Try opening/closing and starting with a different key, if you have had a low battery or jump started it this can send immobilisers/keys in to a twist.
 
hi thanks for the advice unfortunately didnt work read other posts about fuel pump resistor so out of desperation pulled back carpet in the right hand of boot to have a look wiggled the wiring like you do ! bugger me it did it turned key pump noise returned car started on half a turn wonder if it was a bit damp car is garaged only used on dry days now going to spray anti damp service spray all over it.

If you want to avoid further issues with the battery connection I would suggest pulling the terminals and cleaning them properly. You have the beginning of corrosion from dampness and spraying the terminal surfaces won't clean the battery posts properly...been there, done that :D
 
thanks for battery terminal advice but it wasnt the battery terminals i wiggled about it was the fuel pump wiring located in behind the right rear wheel arch
