Not something you'll ever see on a Zed

With the weather getting a bit warmer, the average fuel consumption on my Audi A1 TDI has increased quite a bit. I managed this healthy mpg figure on my 25 mile journey home from work this evening.

BMW really need to make a diesel Z4 :D :exitright:

A diesel roadster !!! I think not, all you'd hear is that satanic din that they make.A job best left to Audi, the manufacturer of German taxis :poke:

I'm surprised the mpg was so frugal...I would have driven foot down to get home as fast as possible to avoid listining to that Radio Clyde sh@@e :poke:

:D I don't listen to Clyde 1 in the morning, but prefer the drivetime show in the evening.

Yes, I'm convinced diesel roadsters are the way to go. Just fit one of those sound generators that the new sDrive 20i has and they could make it sound like a V8. :fuelfire:

Couldn't agree more that a diesel zed doesn't seem right.

However, I reckon it's only a matter of time before they cater for the masses who want sports car with low running costs. Audi already have a diesel TT... I'm sure BMW will follow suit at some point :(

Agree, but think they'll go hybrid. Diesel and roadster is just so wrong.... open air tractor riding

how about one of these hybrid units there putting in the new i8. stupid amounts of power and good on fuel

Audi has with the TT, Merc has with the SLK, Bmw will have to follow suit if they want to keep market share.
It may not sound right but could you imagine how a 35d or 40d Z4 would go with all that torque.

The torque alone would make it worthwhile. Fair do's there would be the tractor factor. But I'm sure a well engineered sound generator would fix that whilst hooning.
