Hi Chaps,

Been on here a while (Since XMas 2010!) but never had a chance to take any decent pics of the Zed. And apologies in advance as I took these yesterday evening when the light was bad. Will take some more when I have a chance and when I can put the roof down...

I wanted to say that we would not have this car if it was not for the Forum. All the buying advice from everyone was put to good use in finding this Zed.
So a big Thank-you to you all for your help and advice.

Car is 3.0iSE in Sterling Grey. It has stuff like folding mirrors, parking sensors and heated/ memory seats. Plus it has the following little mods:
-Bi-colour 108s. I did not get them painted myself. Although I was told by my local body-shop that the grey wheel colour is actually an Audi grey. :o
-Philips X-treme Vision H7 light bulbs in place of the original bulbs which were woeful.
-Bosch Aero-twin wiper blades. Work really well.
-Liberally coated in that stupidly expensive Swissvax boutique wax stuff. Smells lovely though.

Thinking about getting a Stubby, but we listen to Talk Sport (a lot) on AM, so not sure if the reception will be totally rubbish if I change the aerial.
Now used to the SMG gearbox. Actually like it a lot.

Although the car is our 3rd car it is driven once a week to keep everything sweet. Coming from a Touareg daily driver it is always amazing to go for a blast on a Sunday morning. :D

Is that a backhanded compliment or is the rest OK too? LMAO!

The rest looks good to me too. Just think that the wheels are the piont of difference

(Also secretly checking re-furbed 108s, as mine need done and I'm still gathering ideas on what to do.... :)

Hi Randall

I come from a Alfa GT 3,2 that has nicely painted red brake calibres as standard, so the Z4 3.0i brakes looks dull.

Are yours painted standard or upgraded brakes?

Hey Chaps. Thanks for all the favourable reviews of the wheels (and the rest of the car!). :)
I have to admit that the wheels help to make the car stand out. And the colour for the brake calipers was actually the choice of my good lady!
The original wheels were the 103 style. The 108s are very nice but wow(!) do you have to be careful when cleaning them.

Peter -The brake/caliper are totally standard. They were kindly painted by a friendly paint-shop nearby. I believe they were brushed (to remove any traces of rust/dirt), cleaned, and finally treated with "Hammerite" paint. I did ask the usual question about brake temperature affecting the paint. I was told that they had used this system on many vehicles and have no issues.
p.s. I like the sports seats in your picture above.
I am still getting the hang of inserting pictures but (hopefully!) the images below show the caliper in a bit more detail.
