So after the dealer having my car for 2 weeks some body work, I had the car back for two days before a warning light came on. Took it in over the weekend and the diagnostic machine threw up a faulty pressure sensor so panic over I booked it in for next week to have it swapped out.

Just had a phone call from the service team to say oh yes we forgot to tell you on saturday that the engineer noticed you have a cracked alloy and it will need replacing. That's two cracked wheels in 7 months now if I count the one they found when I bought the car. they said it will most likely be covered as good will but they seem to have my car more than I do at the moment. :(
 
I've had 12 cracked wheels in 3 years...BMW have said they will not replace them anymore....and that's it's the area I live in and the way I drive....yup that's it. So my other 19 cars over 25 years have just been lucky.....
 
Bloody hell that's ridiculous! Is it like this on all BMW wheels or just these? I live the look of them but not worth the hassle
 
I had 296s and then changed to 326 M sports hoping they would be better but they are just as bad...it has to be the runflats......

It's not easy changing over unless you have the dosh to change a full set at once, as it's unlikely all tyres will need changing at the same time

I switched from 296 to 326M 18 inch and bought non fun flat tyres at the same time. Cost me about 2 grand. But I bought my car privately and paid several grand less than i would have at a dealer
 
The road outside my dealer is absolutely shocking, probably got the crack there. I've been to have a look and i'll be buggered if I can see where the crack is. God knows how the mechanic noticed it.
