Sooo, got home from work today to discover some absolute f**king prick has decided to scrape their car against mine...

Damage pics below...

So, what I'm wondering is, could this be popped out, and re-sprayed? Or will I need a new panel? Also, trying to do a bit of sleuthing - does it look like the car that connected with mine was white?

Dejected.

Judderman.

you'll find it can be popped out but don't try it yourself from within the wheel arch.

get someone who tools to do it otherwise you'll be left with a smaller version of the dent.

very unfortunate that some dickhead did that, I feel for you.

A decent dent man will get that out and most of the scrape will flatten down and polish out

Thanks all - my brother used a guy to repair his car recently, said he was good. I'm concerned about the actual paint colour though - stratus grey! Would they have to take the whole panel off and re-spray it? Manufacturer specific colours - would those be mixed up or bought? I don't know if stratus grey is specific to BMW, but I haven't seen that many cars (in Belfast at least) sporting that tone.

I might get some other chip marks done whilst I'm at it. Or do a father ted

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mdwAkWvWMw - L O L. That'll be me!!!

Might seem strange, but I used to take a picture of surrounding cars when I left mine at a car park, so I'd have their reg details lol. Probably pointless, but damn I'll be at it constantly now!

Ouch! I feel your pain and that makes my little incident with a hedge trimmer to my front bumper by the gardeners (which they aren't admitting to) seem almost insignificant. It is really to be honest. Just even more annoying when it's not you and they just don't give a crap. Because we all know everyone who has nice things gets them for free!

 I'd forgotten how bloody funny that was!! Brilliant!

This would actually make me sick if this had been mine so I feel for you.

Some G3 compound might remove some of the scratching but the rest might have to be popped out! What's the matter with people these days! ignorant, oblivious bastards!!

I really wouldn't mess about with 'dent men' that work on site, I'd go to a proper body shop and have it sprayed properly and dried in a oven in the correctly dust and fly free environment. For the slight extra cost you'll get a much better job done that will last longer too.

Let me know how you get on with your stratus grey - always wondered what the position was with the 'complex' colour?

Nightmare and something I'm sure we're all worried about when returning to our Zeds!

Similar happened to me recently, although I was in the car! There's obviously nothing you can do about the dent, but you might be surprised how much of the paint you can remove with just your finger nail or a plastic scraper if you're careful, I managed to get mine from this (notice all the red and grey paint inside the dent) :

Practically all of the other car's paint came off without damaging mine, I think the trader I sold the car to just straightened it out without replacing the panel.

Any decent body repair shop will tackle this damage with ease
It can be repaired quite easily with the right tools and equipment
Don't worry about the colour, the painter will get the colour codes from the tag on the car and probably mix it on site or if not get it mixed from his local supplier and when it's finished you won't even know it's been repaired
With the high cost of paint, materials and labour these days you can expect to pay about £250/£300 for that repair
You say you returned home to find the damage done but the photo shows the damage on the near side next to the pavement?
Have you moved the car to a different position? I doubt that the offending vehicle drove along the pavement
It's always worth knocking on a few doors to see if anyone saw it happen
It annoys me that some arsehole can do this and then dissapear
They don't understand how protective we are towards our pride and joy and how painfull it is when this happens
I wish you luck with it and know that once it's repaired and back to pristine condition you will feel better even though you will be out of pocket
Good luck anyway

Greets,

Sooo another day, another incident. I just cannot get a flipping break! Wing mirror was full bent backwards this morning...thought something happened overnight (drunk scumbag hitting it as he/she walk past), but as it turns out, a little toe-rag not looking where he's going cycles full whack in to the side of the car.

Co-incidentally, my car is in a repair shop for previous damage done, so I've asked the repair guy to look and see if this little s**t did any damage and to repair it at the same time. It was a reasonable thump in my opinion.

F**k that street and everyone who lives on it, I simply cannot wait to move far away from those people...

I know people make mistakes, and this was a mistake, but my patience is at exactly zero.

Countryside it is for me!

or at least somewhere with a drive / garage.

Do you know who the kid is? Is it even worth confronting his parents?

Also, I like the camera set-up you have. might get one myself!

Don't know the kid - parents would probably stab me if I did that lol :)

The camera is pretty handy! It's a logitech one, but I think they have been discontinued! Quite annoying that!

Driveway is a must for next house.

Ouch... Must have caused some damage at that speed... Its tough i guess as kids will be kids... What can you do if a kid on a bike innocently does that?

I had a small girl drop her bike and it hit my wheel on a meet... She apologised for it as it was an accident but got home and realised she had scratched my wheel up.... Least it was the wheel and not the bodywork.
