Not happy! Need legal advice (housing/parking)

I think the idea of a residents association is excellent - you may have neighbours with legal knowledge to help and I'm certain there will be others in the same mind as yourself. At least you will feel that you are doing something and having your say to the management company.

Go for it Ruby.

Also - invest in the drive extension - well worth it for future sale and use

:driving:

The only problem would be if at the residents meeting they brought up visitors parking being used for full time parking, then you're stuffed.

Buy the freehold with 51% or more of the other leaseholders dump the management company and draft a new lease which suites the residents requirements.

However that's easier said than done and the fundamental problem here appears to be lack of parking bays and no community spirit I.e. Abuse of 'visitor' parking bays...

a lot of this will be covered in your deeds - who owns what areas, how common areas are managed etc.

we recently took on a new office at work and when I queried a few things I thought were absolutely unequivocal I was met with a different stalling tactic each time, some around parking, some around fire escapes, service provision etc etc. I have some awareness of law due to projects I've been involved with and one thing I will say is that the rules around common areas in domestic houses are often left open to interpretation so management companies are not liable for all sorts... the neat and well kept communal areas the houses are sold with are expensive to keep like that.

think what I'm saying is I'd swallow it, as the moment you invest any degree of intellect or common sense in the battle it'll probably become very draining very quickly.
