..........just been absent for a while.

But, looks like I will be back. My lovely Red Zed was consigned to history for family reasons and a Discovery took its place. My wife was made redundant, and my contract came to an end. The Discovery had to go and make way for something more economical.

I now, as a consequence........drive a 4 door vanilla something forgettable.

Having retired for the 3rd time, I am going back to work which will allow me to get a modestly priced Zed. So I will soon be looking for an older style Zed 3.0l with high miles to use for high days and holidays.

I look forward to coming back and engaging in the friendly banter, and explaining in my own unique way how to remove the centre vent (commonly known as the petach method and incorporating certain words used in a certain order)

watch this space!

Time has not been wasted. I am now a pretty good photographer and actually sell my work. Lawks and lummy.....I am an artist. Here is a link to my work if you are interested.

See you around!

Welcome back, just hope you don't have to use the "petach" method of removing that air vent again :D

Thought you had to get rid of the previous Z due to health reasons though?

cheers all.

PV......still have the health issue (Parkinson's) but having a last hurrah. The Discovery was needed to carry our grandchildren around at various times and it was felt to be a good time to get rid of the Zed for mobility reasons at the same time, ie easier to climb into and fall out of the Discovery than to fall into and climb out of Zed.

Parkinson's had progressed a lot slower thus far...... and I don't give a monkeys if I show me knickers getting in and out. I miss the visceral thrill of this rough rascal of a car. I moaned at the long suffering Mrs Petach long enough to break her will.

"If you get another Zed, I am off" she said "Before you go....what's for dinner" says I. Anyway, I am out of hospital now and the rolling pin has been removed.....slightly easier than the air vent.

Welcome back :-)

Loving the photos on that link (maybe you could help with the "lens" topic I have just posted )

Good luck with the search

He is a dangerous man to hang around - he is responsible for my wide angle Canon expenditure as well as the remote control :D

Looking forward to the next stories about a day in the life of Petach ... the last one about how you married your sister in law was an excellent one :)

.........ah, yes. Married my sister in law. Or was it my mother in law? Can't remember. Anyways.....same thing 'init? Just for the record; I adore her and worship the very ground she glides above.

Cameras! Ohhh yes indeed. I am dangerous. Let me stoke the GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) fires.

Now the owner of:

Canon 5d mk2 full frame camera, 17-40L, 24-105L and 70-200L F2.8 lens's
Ricoh GRD3 camera (my little tough street fighter)
Panasonic GF2 camera

Best not come out on forum days eh?

Welcome back to the fold Pete.

Very pleased to see your name in the recent thread list and read you'll be Zed bound very soon.
As they say on the mean streets of Essex, good arrows sir; good arrows

Loving your photography too by the way. You might finally get that monthy photo comp win :D
