Hi All

NOS Forged BBS RC303 18x8.5 all round (wheels are 8.2KG each) fitted with Michelin PS5 245/40/18 and 255/40/18. I did them myself so I could weigh old Vs. new and I’m shocked at the weight savings and how I can feel the difference.

Style 224 with Michelin PS4 225/45/18 and 255/40/18
Front: 22.4KG x 2 = 44.8KG
Rear: 24.8KG X2 = 49.6 KG
TOTAL weight 224’s is 94.4KG

BBS RC303 with Michelin PS5
Front: 19.2KG x2 = 38.4
Rear: 19.1KG x2 = 38.2
TOTAL weight BBS is 76.6KG

Total weight saved with BBS V 224 is 17.8KG

They look great too!

Just curious, but what offsets did you go for?

Thank you Mr. Tidy.

As they were NOS and not made anymore, I didn’t have a choice. They are ET38.

You might notice that the rears could do with a 10mm spacer but unfortunately, they are illegal and void insurance in every state in Australia. The only exception is if spacers were fitted from the factory.

Cheers!

That's a shame - probably rules them out as an option then!

Motorists seem to get a harder time in Australia than here. :o

It’s definitely difficult driving here. 🤣

The Apex Arc 8 are nearly as light and you can choose your size. The shipping to Australia was too much to bear.

I got lucky with these, they were in Sydney and cost $AUD2600 shipped to Melbourne.

Big savings indeed!

Nice 205 as well 8)

Thank you and thank you Beanie!.

I love the 205. It has the twin cam Mi16 engine with ITB’s, made of balsa wood so weighs nothing…🌞🙏🏽

Nice! ITBs should be obligatory for old hot hatches.

You’ll have to fit an airbox to the Z just to balance out the noise from one to the other :D

Yes, the Style 224 is an extremely heavy wheel. The difference after fitting ARC-8s was very noticeable - the car feels lighter on its feet.
