That's brilliant! Firstly that you're coming to join us and second . . . . . .

No raffle but I will be opening a book on Ian's age - £1 an entry - nearest wins the lot! (those that know already - give others a chance!)

Grab your year now . . . . .

:driving:

Have you been to Barter Books in Alnwick? It's a massive second hand book store based in the old station/platforms - well worth a look - coffee in the waiting rooms, old settees open fires - lovely. More or less opposite the lion column on the main road.

Yep - we always fit in a couple of hours in Barter Books, Mrs Marlon disappears for hours in the Art section then we meet up for coffee and cookies by the open fire and feed the 'honesty box'

Sounds like you're a seasoned Northumberlandian

Wonder if we'll take you places you've never seen - hope so :D

Hi Paul,

How close is the meet to Seahouses?
We are considering a long weekend in Seahouses to incorporate the Sunday meet.

Cheers,
Marlon
Hi Marlon if you are not familiar with the area i can fill you in on site seeing around the area. Give me a PM

Hi Toe-side, we actually know the area very well thanks - we try to get at least one long weekend in Bamburgh every year and visit Holy Island, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick etc. Its a lovely area isn't it - walking on a deserted Bamburgh beach in the winter is wonderful :)

Its a great area(as you know) I live just up the road in Berwick! See you on the run!

Isnt sk93's age shown on his profile - or have I missed something ?

I agree !

I remember Jimmy Clitheroe all those years back!

Pauline and I will be there for this, we'll stay over Saturday and Sunday again and make a long weekend of it.

Hi Paul I'll be there if I can, depends if I'm working Saturday night won't know until about 4 weeks before :(

Just got back in - Steph and I did a recce of part of our up-coming Fri run - late afternoon and the roads were very quiet so another wonderful 'hoon' as well as finding a decent pub or two for our finishing coffee.

Sammyz (and anyone else travelling and looking for accommodation for this run . . . .)

As Marlon has already found, many of the reasonably priced hotels and B&Bs around our start point are booked up - it's the weekend of the Great North Run. This event won't effect our run (we are headed away from the run) but you may have to be a little further 'out' to find somewhere to stay.

Travelling to our start won't be a problem either, travelling North or South on the A1 (Western Bypass) to our start point just off the A1 - as the GNR start and road closures only effect Newcastle's central motorway system and the roads used out to the coast (East) - we are heading North.

There's a long section of roadworks on the A1 past the Metro Centre (30/40 limit) so you may like to allow a little more time if travelling up from the south.

:driving:

Worth saying there are average speed cameras along the length of the road works - so don't try and be brave !

Paul, I/we should be okay for this as well...please put us down as a possible/will firm up as soon as we can :)
