NORTH WALES WEEKEND 27th/28th APRIL 2013

You been chasing those pheasants :headbang:
No.

It was fine on Sunday evening when I parked it up. Came out at 5am on Monday morning for my commute down to London as as the screen demisted I saw the crack.

So just to confirm, how many people are meeting up on Sunday? I've got it in my calendar, the weather doesn't look too brilliant but as long as I'm not driving around on my own ill be there!

Had a great hoon down to Barmouth this afternoon - despite the rain & hail. Had lovely fish & chips on the seafront, and got the eye from a bird (pity it was a seagull) in between the sand storm.

Then had a good hoon back to Betws-Y-Coed for beers in the evening. It was damp, but that didn't spoil the fun :P

Is anyone joining us on Saturday morning (10am sharp in the layby opposite the Swallow Falls Hotel)?

Well there's currently me (Tony) and Mitchy (Graham) at the hotel.

Not had any confirmation of who's planning on turning up on Sat/Sun - but there'll be at least two to join.

Beautiful day in Wales today, and not much traffic either. 250 miles covered to about 24mpg.

Only downside was that I got a ticket for 'going a bit fast' in the words of the PC who stopped me - although he did 'let me off' with just the ticket despite being a little above the ticket/court threshold

Would have been fine had the tosser in the 645 not sped up I attempt to close the gap, which of course meant I booted it :headbang:

The weather is a bit odd this weekend, I've had sun, cloud, blue sky, hail and rain today. Wonder what's on store for my journey to Wales tomorrow.

Do you have a route planned for tomorrow? Did anyone else show up?

No one else had turned when we left at 10:10am

We just played it by ear today, and it seemed to work well. We went as far south as Llandridnod Wells, over to the Elan Valley & Devil's Bridge, Bala, Vernwy, Evo Triangle and some lovely roads that had no name.

If it's only you who turns up tomorrow then I guess we'll do similar.

Just got back from 1 evening & 2 days of the Welsh roads. What a lovely weekend (despite the odd shower/hail/downpour).

Covered about 500 miles over the weekend (excluding the trip there & back), and averaged 23.7mpg (according to the OBC).

Thanks to Graeme (Mitchy) for organising this, and playing pacemaker for most of the weekend. That little 2.5 goes very well - or Graeme is a nutter - haven't quite decided yet :poke:

Olly (twist944) turned up this morning as promised and it made a change to see a decent looking car in front of me. We did our best to get it much dirtier than when it arrived :P

Had a good, mixed choice of roads from the fast & sweeping A470/A44/A483 to the 20-30mph over the moors/mountains unnamed ones.

Didn't stand around taking photo's as there was driving to be done, so here's the only iPhone snapshot I have which is from our Friday evening F&C in Barmouth. Despite the calm looking nature of the landscape, I can tell you it was blowing a gale (and sand) everywhere.

Here's a video I've put together... Camera died before the triangle :(

Good to see Mmmmmmmmmmmm-five and Mitchy

I'll have to get myself a GoPro to connect to Harry's Lap Timer, as your image quality & stabilisation is much better than anything I took with the iPhone (most of which is unsuitable for general viewing).

That was you guys we passed going the opposite way round the Evo triangle (is it possible to go around a triangle?) then.

That roadster was screaming as I went by. Good effort!

Was a tad wet yesterday eh! Had some good weather either side of lunch time though. Had a ball on the B4391 south of Bala...

Will keep an eye out for any future drives up that way...
