The BMW guy who came out to take a look said "it has lost synchronisation and needs re-synchronising". When I booked it in to have this done the guy basically didn't know what would be involved/how long it would take, but suggested it would be an all-day job. Hopefully it's a software issue rather than a hardware, because if it's hardware it'll mean parts needed and I won't be making any meets at all this Easter :(
 
Hope you get the problem sorted Spud. I'd have thought 'mechanical' with a problem like that, maybe a sychro cone gone?? But these modern gearboxes are full of electrical bobbins just waiting to break down :( so you never know.

How about Tesco Stockport?

You guys will be passing there, I'll be wanting to fill up & their super is 99 octane.

We can then carry on to meet the Sheffield lot or straight on to the meet?

Yup, that works for me as I've also been running on the Tesco Super and I know where that is, ideal for a fill-up/meet point ;)

That's probably about half way from Guiseley, so I can divert south of your fine (cough) city and meet there too, if you don't mind travelling with a Newbie. I'll be the one with the white rose :lol: (and the one without a premiership footie club to support in the whole county!)

I might come over from Liverpool to Sheffield just for the drive, and I'm sure I've seen enough alternative numbers on Z4s on the road to avoid a ticket (something starting with a 'Y' should suffice) :P

Is anyone else going up from south via the M40 on Saturday afternoon - we'll be hitting J4 (High Wycombe) some time around 2 (although we are flexible) if anyone wants to convoy up?

The drive itself is about 150 miles from starting at Queensferry. Allowing for a 10 30 start in case Lucy sleeps in :poke: I would expect to be back in Queensferry no later than 4.00pm. We'll stop for a bit of lunch in Bala so I can shorten that slightly if we're running late.

Ahh - so close! I'll be coming from Windsor about that time, but taking the M1 since I'll be heading to Notts overnight. Shame!
