North Wales Run Sunday 11th April

Well first look at next weekend's weather and the forecast seems to be for sunshine and cloud but no rain 8)

Looking good :) .

If anyone is looking for accommodation the night before, we have just booked into the Devere St David's Park:

http://www.devere.co.uk/our-locations/st-davids-park.html

They are doing a special Easter "Family" rate of dinner bed and breakfast for £89 for 2 people. We had to ask for this when calling up, an offer we found on their website.

Hope this helps!

Sammyz...sorry if its the wrong person but didnt u wanna swap 3rd brake lights sometime earlier on in the year??
Makes no diff to me cos ive got no taste preference really but if u still want to we could meet early on the sunday and get them swapped in the car park
If not no worries dude cos i dont really care :)

Woots,

yeah we did discuss the idea. Not too bothered though so will leave it as it is. Sunday will be complicated enough if everyone turns up! :)

Do the Sheffield crew have a planned route for getting to the start point yet? I'll be leaving Nottingham early Sunday morning, and Google Maps ads only 11 miles on to my journey to go north past Sheffield and via the M56, as opposed to me going south down and across via the A50/M6...

Are you guys going via M56? Or are you going to cross-country it through the Peak District?

ETA* - just looked on Google Maps and a run through Peaks could be engineered through the Cat & Fiddle - and seeing as I've not travelled along this rather famed strip of tarmac, it'd seem rude to miss it out. Plus it shouldn't add too much to the journey time at that time of the morning! So if any of the Sheffield lot fancy meeting part way into the Peaks (maybe near Buxton?) for a bit of a blat to the meeting point, could sort something out? :)

(click for Google Route, and here for Sheffield alternative?)

Sixspeed, I ordered up some good weather for Sunday seeing as you were coming all that way :D

If people want to drop me a p.m. to confirm attendance I'll p.m my mobile number back in case of emergencies etc. I'll pass out some maps etc on Sunday.

Looking good for a great days' driving :driving: Woots are we all stopping at yours for a barbie afterwards? We can all have a go at polishing the scratches off your bonnet and you can tell us how they got there!

Have you heard about the recently installed average speed cameras up there? Was on PH a few weeks ago.

I've been keeping unusually quiet about this meet recently as my car only has 3 gears at the moment - however, it's booked in on Friday...

Sixspeed, yeah that rough route from Sheff is a good one!! Ill start a 'convoy' thread tomorrow :)

Edit: Spud theyre currently installing them as far as i know, last chance for a blast!! :driving: Sorry to hear about your car though, any ideas what's wrong with the 'box?

I live right where the M60 meets the M56, so if the Sheffield lot do come the Snake Pass route I could meet up with you somewhere too?

There was talk of The Cat & Fiddle -> Something something -> Knutsford ?
Knutsford also isn't a million miles from where I am, so if you go that route perhaps meet in Knutsford?

Taz, you up for meeting this lot? If they want to be big fat meanies and not meet us, we could meet somewhere and mini-convoy on to the main meet point?

Siftah, you up for this too? (something tells me you're North-West Manchester though? likely heading south on the M60 anti-clockwise, where Taz would be clockwise?)

M60 is broad as it's long for me, I'm at Junction 21 which is where I guess Taz will get on from Saddleworth - I'd probably suggest if we all rendezvous at a service station on the M56/M6 as the Notts/Sheffield posse will be passing there too?

Quick Google suggests Junction 14 is the first services on the M56 - does that suit others? about 40 mins for myself and Taz and probably 25 for you Tweedy?

(Either that or Taz comes to me then we'll convoy on to yours and then on to the first meet point?)

.

I've heard the rumours, so expect to have to take it slower than would usually be required in the good ol' days. However, never done this route before, and i'm not likely to be in the area anytime again soon, so might as well take a run through. My "stealth" might come in handy anyway...

Ed, sounds like a plan is forming!
