I think the restaurant in the Oswestry Premier Inn is closed now.

Important Information
Sorry, but the restaurant at this hotel is currently closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Pot Noodles all round.

Is this still going ahead,Simon?

I have had to cancel my March Scottish meet,as Lunch venue is now closed,as are they all.
Did think about sandwiches/picnic,but since it was only a handful of us,and most had decided to follow official advice and not travel/socialise unless vital, then made sense.
Hopefully they get control of this soon, and people stop dying.
Stay safe ,and hope to see you in the not too distant future mate

I m looking forward to a run out in the UK when this is all over as my annual trip down thro Germany etc is off!

I think any run will be oversubscribed

I don't know whether you have all seen this article, but it looks like the Welsh government or the local residents might prevent people travelling unnecessarily into North Wales.

Top marks for Premier Inn they posted that they would refund and fair enough I had my booking costs paid back the following day, that's even though I paid the lower rate.

Hi Craig
Think we may be looking down the barrel of a gun now with this one. Suck it and see this week and then I'll make a decision :(

I've just been looking at todays news online and talked this through with my co-conspirator Jay, and we have decided the only sensible thing to do under the circumstances is to cancel this run for this year.
Apologies to everyone that has shown an interest in coming along, and have gone to the trouble to make arrangements and booked hotels etc. I'm sure you will agree that a drive in the Welsh countryside is of no consequence in the grand scheme of things.
Hopefully we can have this run again sometime in 2021.
Regards, Si

Common sense says this should be cancelled. Going for a drive on your one is fine, but a not a large group.

It is the only sensible outcome. Each town and village has elderly and vulnerable people who they are trying their upmost to protect. To go ahead with a gathering of circa 50 people is just irresponsible and selfish. Hopefully we will all get through the current situation and then get back zedding. Stay safe everyone

Thanks for all the efforts you’ve made Si and I hope there are only a few dates etc for you to change for the following year and just hope we are all here to see it..

I have to admit to being sincerely worried about the situation at this time but we all have to try and remain positive.

Yep a real shame......always next year guys. Stay safe everyone.

Definitely the right decision due to this horrific covid 19 hopefully we all make it through unscathed and all you guys pause and replay in 2021 take care everyone

Im hopeing everythings under control and we can do it sept-oct.
Or rare occasions i can be an optimist :D :driving:

In a moment of pre lunch / lockdown boredom I watched Bargain Hunt - Ironically it was from Oswestry!
Tomorrow we were all set to drive there in preparation for Sunday’s run - thanks to the Chinese bat eaters that’s not happening now.

Yep - we also missed No1 Granddaughters 5th birthday - it’s tough when she is on FaceTime and she says “ miss you Grandpop”. Soddin bat eaters! They’ve a lot to answer for.
Maybe they had a plan?
