North Wales Run September 5th

oh my god.. this is far too early on a Sunday.
even the dog is giving me evils for waking him up!

Just got back after playing chicken with the fuel light.

Thanks to sammyz for organising everything, and we were mostly kept moving with only 2 or 3 'losses' over the day.

Lovely fish & chips in Rhos, but I wish they wouldn't advertise what they don't have - I was looking forward to that Jumbo Haddock :x

Weather was a bit hit & miss, but at least there was nothing bad enough to put us off.

Don't know what the plan was for the finale, but I was assuming (and calculating my fuel usage) based on returning to Starbucks and the adjacent petrol station. Didn't see anyone turn off there, and when I did see some peel off at the next junction I was already alongside a truck and couldn't (if I'd wanted to) follow.

Sorry, got no pics as I didn't take a camera with me, as I prefer the driving to the scenery :P

sammyz - thanks once again for organising this.

Cheers John for organising the day, had a great time, shame I had to peel off and get back to Northampton.( was an hour late getting back - oops) But, around 450 miles fo the day for me,great roads, great company and great fish n chips on the seafront. Shame about all the w*nkers in hatchbacks holding everyone up on the way via betws -y -coed. 38mph FFS!!! See you all soon.

Just like to add my thanks to John for organising another top day.

Got in at 7.45 having done 450 miles today. Some awesome roads, particularly in the afternoon and as ever some great company.

Uploaded a few photos - not very good but didn't take many today. Too preoccupied with the driving.

Thanks everyone for great day :driving:

Noooooooooo how come I didn't spot this?
I love those roads round there. It looks like it was even roof off weather. When will there be another?

Another great day... massive thanks once again to Sammyz for organising/leading and to everyone that attended for making it the day it was.
Didn't get round many people for chats, unfortunately... I think I only said about 3 words to Taz all day (Alright, wee man!).

The tunnels (or I should say the sound inside the tunnels!) were fantastic... At one point, I barged my way to the front, so I could listen to Andy and Sammyz's exhausts blat past me in the tunnel. Sounded soooooo good...

Prize for git of the day goes to Guiseley, for non-chalantly commenting at one of the stops "Did anyone else notice the camera in the 3rd tunnel?". Several faces dropped instantly before he started laughing. Git :punish:

and C*^t of the day is a toss up between:

1.) The guy in the Black Touareg who took except to us leaving that garage, leant on his horn and then proceeded to drive at 30mph through the twisties, up until a possible passing point, where he floored it.
2.) Black Touareg guy's mate behind him in a blue crap-wagon, that indicated and pulled out in front of Siftah when it finally looked like he could overtake
3.) The old tool in the camper on the way back to Starbucks that moved into the fast lane on the only bit of dual carriageway for miles, almost killing Sk93, just because.

I didn't take any photos at all today, figured I'd just scrounge everyone elses!

special mention to the bloke in the 58-plate Z4MR who was suddenly confronted by 23 Z4's coming in the other direction, prompting him to flash his lights at all of us !

:driving:

Hey - what a great day. Even got an hours unbroken sunshine after lunch :)

So you don't think the Toureg git liked me pulling out to slow him down and let 75% of us out the garage. Ah well I'm sure he'll get over it.

My credit of the day goes to the t*sser in the tunnel towing a trailer full of mattresses who tried to race us and pulled out into the fast lane. Think he was deafened by tghe end

More seriously great to see everyone and thanks to Sammyz for organising. Will see if I have any photos, but not so many opportunities this time.

Thanks to Sammyz for the organisation - was a good run.

Just got back in myself, completing a total of 13 hours driving! and 534 miles.
I'm, understandabley, about to go to bed lol.
(where hopefully, I won't be haunted with my near-death experience with a stupid camper pulling out 100 yards in front of me - for no reason whatsoever - at half of my speed! )

I didn't have a camera man with me, and I didn't take my "real" camera either... and after checking the one-handed attempts I made on the phone, I've decided it best to say I didn't take any either.

all in all - a great day out at the seaside.

Had a great time. Good to put some names to faces and profiles. Funniest moment was when six of us realised we were following a z going home and not staying for the afternoon. Ian's fault :poke:

*yawn*

back here too.. great days driving, even better than last year - thanks sammyz

even made it to the exclusive "invite only* little chef for a final wee at the end. Got a few decent photos methinks, but also have vids from all 3 tunnels... will attempt to upload them at some point and will share with caution  :driving:
