North East/North Yorkshire day out*Cancled*

Ok kids 1 week to go. We are meeting at the Sedbury Layby, it's on the A66 on the right about 300 yards after the Scotch Corner Hotel. If you are a little unsure you can google it as they have there own web site with a link to a map. We'll be setting off at 10, I'll be there from about 9:15 so I can take advantage of the lovley bacon butties avalable :) .
See you all next week and keep your fingers crossed for the weather or just sacrifice a chicken/virgin(if available, non round my way) if you think it will work :P .

Hi Dave1071,

Will there be final confirmation of the run going ahead?

Anything else you need from us before the run?

Given recent weather might we have to take a rain check on this ??

Hoping that it will clear? But at present does look under threat.

At least there shouldnt be any snow or ice about, unlike previous north east run!!

I am a little concerned about the weather but all I can say is we will have to give it another couple of days and have a look. I know it's short notice and not ideal but I'd rather not risk it if the roads are not safe.

Wussy coupe owner worried about getting his hairdryer wet?? :)

Guess you haven't been watching the weather John - need snorkels in parts of North Yorks, and even when it's gone there's lots of crap and broken roads left behind.
Happy for you to lead and test the water depth for us if you like - at least you can climb out the top when the engine floods.

Just fitted my 'M' snorkel so put me at the front. :)

Forecast seems good between now and the weekend but happy to go with the decision of the locals!

Sorry to let you folks down but I feel it's the best thing to do. I'm sure you have all seen the news about the problems we have been having round here but just in case you hav'nt a 40 mile stretch of the A1 has been closed for two days the weather has been that bad.
Having spoken to some of the lads at work who live in the outlying villages(those that made it in) they have all said the roads are in a shocking state with mud, gravle and lots of water running across the roads. That coupled with the forecast for Sunday being very poor I just don't think it would be a worthwhile event. I know it's not all about the hoon but we did'nt buy these cars to potter round like we are driving Nissan Micra's.
Unfortunatley I've no free weekends for about the next 6 weeks so can not even postpone it. I do appologise if I have disappionted anybody but I'll try again next year.

Laine :(

Disappointing as this was our first hoon but the right choice - the only choice given the state of the roads after the weather - the last time we had heavy rain the roads were in a right mess. No fun to be avoiding this - good call. Will watch out for next year - we can have some brilliant weather in March....
