Thanks for the comments about the photos guys, if you want to see them large you can view them on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/chargesmayvery

Alpina's were around before the M was introduced and had among other things..

3.4 litre engine
front and rear spoilers
upgraded interior

not many built so are quite rare in comparison.

They were withdrawn when BMW released the M for fear of too close comparison and as such were pre-facelift only.

Alpina in general is essentially a tuning arm of BMW in much the same way AMG is to Mercedes.

The rear lights, third brake and roundals were changed by me, they are original BMW parts. Would like to change the orange front indicators, but to much of a faf.

As for Alpina differences, don't forget
gearbox
final drive
suspension
19" alloys
stainless steel exhaust

The engine is also tuned very differently, it has more torques than an M, but less BHP but can produce fantastic fuel economy. On the run on Sunday I got 30mpg blasting it about, but can return 35mpg on a steady run.

Just mucking about with one of the pics i took from the meet i do like the effect. What do you think

Quicktime should be fine, the file should be no larger than 2gb and ten minutes, if it is try googling "Re-Exporting A QuickTime Video (Over 2Gb in Size)" for instructions of how to Prepare for Internet Streaming. hope this helps..

Top job - One of my new favourite roads. Noticed how the weather turned from bright to grey as we closed in on the coast. Thanks for sharing - any more?

Tweed this is just a taste of what you missed out on :P

I did take a couple of other short clips ,but that one is the best of the bunch.
Would have liked to have seen the face on the Z3 driver as 10 Zed's blasted pass :o

He ended up pulling over a little to let me and Guiseley past which was nice of him as unfortunately he was going just a little too quickly to be easily passable when I encountered him. I was behind you Red when you filmed the overtake, seeing the video has reminded me why I couldn't also get past him at the same time! :headbang:

After having problems in uploading a video to Youtube i gave it one last try and hurrah it finally worked.
I can't embed the clip so here is the link.
