FOR THOSE ATTENDING THIS SUNDAY AUG 3rd:

Hi all,

Will pm you all with my mobile tel number in case of problems.

Particularly if you are unable to attend - please do let me know so that we don't hang around waiting for you at the start - a text will do thanks.

We're hoping to be on the road at 10am remember so if you think you may be delayed also give me a call - we'll arrange to wait or sort out an agreed meet up point.

Paul :driving: :thumbsup

Paul, Steph & others . . REALLY sorry but we're not going to make this run - sadly for a very good reason - as we speak I don't have a functioning zed ! I'm having a D2 Big Brake Kit instlaled in preparation for our Euro trip and it should have been ready at the latest today. Sadly my indie has just informed me it's unlikly to be ready today as someone is ill - and it's still in bits - it then needs an alignment check (which was pencilled in at another venue for tomorrow morning) following some Meyle HD suspension bush / lollipop upgrades and a delciate wheel balance as they reckon the new calipers are so big we won't have room for regular wheel weights - slightly concerning !

So humble apologies to all but hope you ahve a great run anyway. I was looking forward to this as a warm up for Europe. I should have been organised early but work and The Games have meant available time has been minimal.

I will still meet some of you at the start of the Skyefall run where we will tag along for some of the Saturday.

I'm :( but you lot should be :driving:

Hi jax,

Disappointing but sounds like a good reason to be missing the run - upgrading brakes.

Sometimes things just don't fall into place. :x

Hope to catch you at the start of the Skye run.

(Thought you were about to let us know you'd gone towards the bright lights of a porker when I read the start of your message :D - good to hear you're investing in that lovely Zed)

:driving:

This is my first post on Z4-Forum. Just got my zed 2 weeks ago. I have used this site for a few things already and it has been very helpful. be great to me some of you on sunday, if saturday night isn't too heavy ;-)

Gary

Hi Gary,

Welcome to the Forum.

Be good to see you on Sunday. We're driving some brilliant roads so you will need a clear head :o .

I'll send you my mobile number (via a pm (personal message - click above to access the message)). Send me a text if you're not up to it so we know not to expect you - we'll be leaving at 10am.

There's a posted guide for run etiquette at the top of the Meets/Runs /Road trip section of the forum that is worth a read through.

Paul

:driving:

Cool thanks Paul. I will be doing one or the other dont worry. (Poor choice of words  ) will text you on sunday morning

Disappointing - we're going to miss you and your lovely E89.

Thanks for letting me know. Next time perhaps.

Paul :driving:

Not impressed with last nights rain shower hopefully it clears up for Sunday. Last Sunday wasn't sure it knew what to do (sun or rain)

See you all Sunday morning :driving:

Cars all clean but just topped up oil with the last I had. Have to go out and get some.
Mine will be the car with the engine like a bag of hammers unless I get some cheap Castrol 0w30.

See you all tomorrow :D

Don't suppose anyone fancys nipping to mine to wash the car, at work Alday might have to set the alarm for early aclock in morning to make it hoon presentable.

Keeping a keen eye on the weather. We are suffering Low pressure moving slowly over the North. Forecasts keep changing almost hourly. Last weekend we had a similar forecast of light showers and we only got some very light rain on the way back from Hartside (no one bothered putting their roofs up) to Lumley castle.

We can only hope for the same this weekend. . . we shall see.

Brian I read a posting that Tescos are selling litre bottles of 0-30 cheap at their garage outlets? Not certain if it was just the one outlet. I carry a litre in the boot if you're desperate!

Cleaned my Zed just before it rained on Thursday night - tried not to use it since - now Steph's taking it to the coast :(

It'll need another clean when she gets back). Hey ho!

See you all tomorrow.

(Petrol station and toilets at the Tescos if anyone was wondering)

Hope the weather improves for you guys tomorrow. My zed failed his alignment test today with a stuck tie rod - so new track rod / tie rods ordered & alignment is out so front tyres worn out more than I first thought so just ordered parts & 4 new vredestein ultrac sessanta for £400 from cam skill which I thought was a bit of a bargain ! Brake kit now on but calipers just fit with barely 2mm spare so some inventive wheel balancing needed once new tyres arrive. I'm off to Spain for a long weekend on wed so will report back with updated zed bits ASAP. Have fun & apologies again that we can't join you.

The BBC app shows it a little better for tomorrow - the fluffy white cloud symbol

I'm sat I the kitchen looking out on a very dark afternoon! Thunder and lightning here - the dogs are skulking away. . . always a sign of a storm.

But yes - the weather does look much better tomorrow for Newcastle - as we head west to Hexham we should be ok but then further west there is a possibility of showers - like I said, all depends how quickly (or slowly) this low pressure moves. . . we shall see.

:driving:
