NORTH EAST 'HOONS' - 27 July and 3 August

The more the merrier the last time me and paul did the run we got to hexham about 10:45/11:00 clock.... Newcastle isn't much further really another 20mins or so but if hexham works for you will see you there :D

Paul will be the best one to reply he knows the run a lot better than me for times but would be good to see you there.

I am a white settler in Dumfries and might be interested in popping over to Hexham to say 'Hello'. I think I might be free on either weekend, so the weather will probably decide which one. Not sure if I am up for a trip all the way to Newcastle, but never say never.

Is it okay to be that vague?

Be nice to see some of the Scottish members jumping on board.

We shall see . . .

I will be driving down from Edinburgh, so hopefully will see you there :)

Thanks Chezsherman thanks Swiftly,

DumfriesDik I've responded to your pm - we are pretty flexible and I can give you ideas of times and locations.

Look forward to seeing you!

Paul :driving:

Could possibly do the 27th, actually in the UK then for a change and even better I'll be in Teesside at my parents that weekend.
I was planning on using my R1 that weekend but could be persuaded otherwise.

If I make it I'll be driving back to Castle Douglas afterwards if that helps you decide.

Ha - Can I persuade you Richard - as an ex biker I know you'll love the A686 on the R1 but why not take a 'different' approach - if we get a good run at it, it can be terrific in the Zed - roof down no helmet or leathers needed. . . .back lanes we got lined up are are fun too. . . .

Let me know if you want adding to the list - be great to see you.

Paul

Hope you can make this one RichardG - been too long since you were at a forum meet! I can't make this one but hoping to make a similar one on the 3rd August. Sure you will enjoy the company.

Hope the weather turns out to be good looking forward to it. see we have gained some more interest think it will be a good turn out.

Can't commit 100%, it all depends on whether we get the work done at my parents in time.

Just got a bit bored with the whole forum thing Jack as you can tell by the amount of posts I now do. I drop by for about 5 mins once in a while but the reality is I see very little that actively interests me now. Fell out with the runs too over what I considered dangerous unsafe driving on a few of the runs, not everyone wants to drive a 100mph everywhere and IMO the runs where getting too strung out and turns being made that could easily split the stragglers from the group. If I do make it Janette will not be in attendance because of it.

Hi Richard,

For info (and so others who might be considering the run don't get the wrong idea):

It's not my intention to be travelling anything like that speed. Spirited, safe driving where appropriate - and we will be recognising speed limits for obvious reasons and to avoid unwanted points. Nevertheless, with luck regarding traffic, there will be challenge and fun to be had on our favourite back roads and the routes we've chosen - we will still be able to enjoy the very reason why we bought our Zeds. I expect those attending to recognise we are on public highways shared with other drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists. My wife and I determined that we would not continue any runs where we thought the driving was dangerous or inappropriate. We've been on two Nationals, Lake District and several Scottish runs since we joined the forum. I have always complimented the driving I've experienced on these runs and be aware that - just like you - if I felt driving styles were inappropriate, Steph and I would not continue to take part. That being the case it is our intention to offer a varied and enjoyable day on some of our favourite back roads and some wonderfully scenic roads. There are also many 're-assembly points' on the routes we've chosen - there are separate sections and we'll all be together before setting off for the next. All members attending will get a route sheet and our mobile number in case of problems. Hope this will be reassuring to you and anyone else considering joining us.

Steph and I hope you can make it on the day.

Paul :driving:

Glad you can make it PeterZed and for your first meet. Added you to the list.

My Zed's a sport and has Sport Seats - as Swiftly said - lots of those attending will have the seats you want to try, no problem . . . out of interest, I'd like to try your SE seats if that's ok! :)

See you on the day.

Paul :driving:

I'll hopefully make one or the other :). Got Commonwealth Games tickets for the evening of the 27th so need to be in Glasgow for 7pm, then my parents are visiting the weekend of the 3rd but I could always bring my dad along again - he's been on nearly as many meets as me!
