Normal unleaded performs better?

I've always fed the 3.0L Z4 with 97RON fuel.....but 2 weeks ago I decided to use the BP 95RON fuel to see if there was any difference. There was a difference, but not what I expected. The Z4 felt pokier and torquier with the 95RON fuel. I know its not placebo effect because when I now plant it in 2nd gear the DTC light flashes up. Can anyone explain?
 
It's trying to burn it off quicker to get the nasty taste out of its mouth so you can fill it up with nice 97 or 99 again... :)
 
haha....in that case might go find some 91RON fuel. It'll go like a rocket!!

Where can you get 99RON in the UK?
 
Tesco Momentum is 99 as is Shell v-Power now. Mixed reviews on here, most prefer Shell (me included) but it's there.

I'm told that near Silverstone you can get 100+ but I've never actually seen this
 
i prefer shell v power the exhausts are as clean as can be. even had it checked to make sure there isant anything wrong with the engine and its running to lean :thumbsup: :driving: .my son has said it is running as sweet as it will ever be
 
I stuck some Shell fuel save in tonight. Can't say I noticed any real difference but maybe it's taking time to adjust. Kind of like how food poisoning isn't instant.
 
I fed mine too much chocolate and it started to look like an SLK. :thumbsdown:

Back on Vpower now and slimming down nicely. :thumbsup:

If anyone needs a wee dram. We know who's tank to drain. :) Do you use the 100 RON Talisker or the 95 RON Glenlivet.

I wondered why my car wobbled every once in a while down Loch Laggan - it was sucking up your fumes :lol:
