It doesn’t work like that in the UK, no accident will be recorded on the car. The OP is spot on here, it’s a car, old people are always more likely to have these types of bumps. I’d explain to him that’ll need to be an insurance claim and get it to the Porsche garage so they can book you in and his insurance can pay for you to be in a nice new 992 whilst you wait on yours to be repaired. 👍🏻

Take photos of the damage for the history file. Although the damage will no doubt be expensive it doesn’t appear significant and it will be completed in an approved bodyshop and not an insurance el cheapo place where things tend to get done to a price rather than a standard.

I’m with Greg here, it’s upsetting seeing your car taking as knock, but loosing it at someone who has been honest and taken full responsibility for it isn’t going to make it better for either party. If the chap had denied It or driven off then that’s when dB levels rise!

How many of us can say with honesty we’ve never nudged or creased a panel? It’s certainly not a codger specific thing!

I love the fact that you of all people wrote that one.

Well, that was a surprise...

Coolant leak unrelated and seems to be a common problem on mid 2018 models. Being fixed under warranty.

Total price for the bumper off respray is........

Give me your guesses

£2500 if at Porsche

Well a mate of mine has just had his 2014 bumper, bonnet and wings painted at a place in Rotherham for about £1400 so I would say £600

£636 all in, including transporting the car to their facility in Glasgow and back (50 miles each way)

I was shocked

May even have saved you a more expensive repair as you may not have noticed the leak from the radiator any other time. I'm with you on not getting over excited...it doesn't fix anything, and just makes you feel bad when you calm down. Good price on the repair by the way, I just got quoted $940 (about 600 pounds) for repairing a shopping trolley dent in the rear door of the wife's Subaru....now if I could get my hands on the twat that did that...

They’ve changed their name then.

I knew they did the stuff for Porsche Braehead (and all other high end motors too) any work I’ve seen that’s come out of there has been absolutely bang on
