Non run-flats- what’s the backup plan?

Yes I had 4 sets of Pirelli run-flats on a 1 Series and another set on a 3 Series and they were by far the best run-flats I've had.

My MC doesn't have run-flats but came with a can of gel and a compressor, but I managed to buy a single front wheel so now it has a full-size spare - just not much boot!

if a puncture is leaking air fast enough that it cant be dealt with by just checking the pressures every half hour, its doubtful any tyre gunk or rats tails would help anyways.
I’ve had car and bike tyres punctures patched with mushroom plugs and rats tails that lasted thousands of miles. Obviously not every puncture is patchable.

I’ve never had a problem with rats tails, pulled out many a nail/screw from the tyre that a compressor couldn’t cope with and they’ve worked every time

I know it’s a controversial thing to say, but I’ve been quite impressed with the runflats on my car. I wouldn’t have chosen them but they came supplied new with the car when I bought it. Slightly hard ride but decent all weather performance, imo. I thought I would need to change them up instantly. But they’ve caused me no problems.

Personally I’m happy to have run flats. If, travelling to work :(, at 330 in the morning, I get a puncture, at least I can carry on travelling to my place of torture :)

Being honest I stuck with the run-flat Bridgestones on both of my 3.0Sis. I meant to try swapping but never actually got around to it.

But my 3 Series daily has 17" Continental run-flats and I'll stick with them for the convenience factor - plus it's no Sports car anyway!
