Non-OEM Wind Deflector

Yeah, my girl much prefers the deflector in and windows up  at highway speeds. With the windows down I don't notice too much of a difference except on chilly days (so yeah I notice a difference). Where I really see a difference is with the windows up and wind deflector (roadster solutions one btw) in or out. It does block a lot of wind.

Agreed Andy I find this odd!

I don't trust myself to make one good enough for my car given the last thing I made with my own fair hands was a shoddy little cd rack at school! I've taken the punt but gone for the strappy OEM one which as someone here once said looks like it belongs in an Ann Summers shop.

My friend's SLK at over 100 mph felt far better than my deflectorless Zed at 60 so I am hoping for at least a slight improvement.

Thanks all for the input

I don't notice much difference between my SLK now and my old Z4, but I suppose the seats in the SLK go further back so if you're tall you can get out of the wind more easily.

I always thought the strappy one comes with the Z4 anyway so yours must have been lost at some point.

I actually had and used the OEM mesh wind blocker before I bought the Roadster Solutions unit and I think it did block the wind better. But, the clear one looks so much better that gave up the performance gain for looks.

This one looks good, works well and is easier to install the the OEM item:

Originally had the OEM mesh (the one that fits over the roll bars! but ugly!) before moving to that one. Very little increase in turbulance over the mesh and looks a million times better IMO.

i just bought the one from roadster solutions and have installed 2/3 of it. having issues getting the driver's hoop plastics installed ... can't seem to jam that black rubber thing into the slot ... but somehow managed to do it on the passenger side ... will try again when my thumbs recover from straining them to get that passenger one in

but the middle piece and the passenger piece in, i already notice quite a difference!! big time recommend from me to get one!!

now if only i can get that other side installed ... and yes, i've tried putting the rubber in the freezer for 10-ish mins as per the instructions ... perhaps if i put it in the freezer overnight ...
