non-metallic rattle from rear side when going over pothole or bump

hi,

I'm hearing a non-metallic rattle type of sound going over bumps and potholes from the rear side, as if it were happening inside the cabin behind the seat

comes only in case of bigger bumps, potholes and higher speed

the spring is ok, the adaptive strut is not leaking

could this be something related to the cabin trim, ...?

what should I check?

thanks

update: noise is coming from seat head support height

What do you mean by "seat head support height"? Do you have a pic?

I presume he means headrest height, it could be the rear screen where it rests on the rear deck maybe? If you use the search function there’s plenty on eliminating various squeaks & rattles on the e89

I have exactly the same non metallic noise from my 2010 E89. The car has been up on the lift at a friends garage, no problems were found with the suspension. The noise sounds as though it’s coming from behind the passenger seat. I’ve not had time to investigate any further. Any ideas would be great.

As per my post above, plenty of info on here using the search function
