Noisy wiper motor

Anyone fixed a grindy sounding noisy wiper motor/mechanism?

It’s ironic … Wipers were doing that thing where they don’t park, then they just decided life wasn’t wiping anymore. There was lots of grease all over the contacts so cleaned them up re lubed the gears greased the ball joints and now it’s noisy as hell.

Anyone know if you can fix or have fixed this? Read a post that the mechanisms and motor are the same as a 2006 fiesta?

Since you have greased all the linkages and they are free to move the noise must be comming from the actual motor bushes, have you checked them and put some light oil on them and the motor spindle at each end of the motor. Don't use WD40 just use some 3in1 light oil on these and only a small dab of grease on the worm drive cog so it dosn't migrate over the contact plate again.

The only bit I’ve not greased are the two spindles that between the worm drive and motor windings and the large wheel out to the wiper mechanism. It’s not obvious how all this comes apart to clean grease these. I’ll see how it all sounds next time I use them
