Noisy steering

Steering feels a bit gritty/notchy/noisy especially going from full lock to lock

Before it goes back to BM anyone had similar and know the cause?

The universal joint near the exhaust had slightly ceased on mine, a liberal spray of oil and grease soon sorted it out
