Noisy Cooling Fan

My 2003 with 80,000 miles on it has a noisy cooling fan. It kinda screeches or squeals.

It is especially noticeable when I shut the car off and the fan continues to run for a couple of minutes.

As far as I know, it is an electric cooling fan.

Does that mean I have to replace the fan motor, or is there a secret to lube the fan or replace the brushes?

Has anyone else had this problem?

The "cooling fan" sounds like the wrong name. If its an actual fan it wouldn't be for cooling, as far as I'm aware. There's an AC Condensor, which controls the "cooling" but it has less of a fan, and a pulley through which the serpentine belt provides power. You can buy a new one, or it could be the serpentine belt itself, in that case the belt would be the wrong sides, and provide some sort of slippage causes issues for a second or so, and then run normal for a bit and repeat the process.

p.s. this is from knowledge of general car mechanics, so I could be wrong, I'm just trying to offer some advice on threads that havent been answered

Methinks you are referring to the electric fan bolted behind the radiator that COOLS the coolant by pulling air through?
Yes this is an actual fan and it is simply removed in about ten minutes.
Not sure if your suggestion would fit but once it's out it would be very easy to check.
