Noisey alternator n52 177bhp

Annoyingly just bought the car privately & I've only just heard today the alternator has a slight whine on it, it's consistent with the engine revs & it sounds alternatory if that makes sense! Put a screw driver to it & its 'screeching' loudly when I Rev the engine so Can I assume this is what it is? Or are there any other components it might be? Water pump etc,

Also can I get my unit fitted with a new pulley or am I just going to have to bite the bullet & get a new one

The pulley itself won't be making the noise, it will be the bearings on the shaft.

Do eurocarparts do one for it.

A decent indy garage should be able to sort taking it off/refurb/ back on for you
I had a 6 series needing the same & it cost £175 all in for that

I've seen couple on eBay mate, what do you reckon? I've no qualms in taking it off myself & re-fitting
