Noise on start up

I had my z4 services last week and I've started to notice a noise on start up . It sounds like a fan or whizzing noise that last about 30 seconds then stops

Any ideas ?

Its probably the Emission Control Pump or Secondary Air Pump . It works this way for about 30-40'' and blows air into the exhaust system during the warm-up phase and generates an oxygen surplus reducing catalyst response time by almost 50 per cent.
 
If it is the secondary pump and works properly, no.
But check to the shop is always needed if something strange happens

Most UK cars don't have the secondary air pump, think it's just the ///M's
