Noise in cabin

Can anyone tell me where the sound generator foam lives please...i think mine has been removed ..but would like to check...as its loud
 
Don't have any photos to show, but basically if you follow the intake from the airbox to the manifold, on the back side of the manifold you'll see a pipe, about 4-5cm diameter, running from the manifold to the firewall. There's a jubilee clip on the manifold end and it just pushes into the hole on the firewall.

I have one piece of foam taken out of mine and it's quiet for day to day driving, but when you nail it it makes a nice amount of noise :rofl:
 
Look in passenger footwell up towards the cover with the footwell light in it, if the inner foam is still in, you should be able so see it poking from the end of the tube, if not you'll just see the empty tube and have your answer that it's not as standard, in which case the one at the engine end may also have been removed.

Taking a quick peek at your vehicle history, I can't believe you think anything about a Z4 is noisy. :wink:
