Noise from the brake pedal

Hi guys, i have a problem with my new brakes. I just have change my front brake pads and after the change a noise near the brake pedal, more like a blowing vacuum cleaner, appeared. Whenever the brake pedal is depressed there a is a huge blowing noise in the braking pedal area and whenever i press the pedal ,noise disappears. And when i turn the engine off the first 5 secs there is also blowing until the brakes become hard( it is hard to press the pedal) i went back to the service station the guy told me that its the pressure issues in new brakes, i should drive for a week and it will disappear, but im afraid something else is the case. Has anyone had same kind of problems or knows what it could be? Thnx
 
Yes forgot to mention, he says (service guy) the cause of the noise is the brake booster, and it needs some time to adjust....
 
Never ever heard of this before and never experienced. A brake pad change is just what it is - simply a change of the pads. There may be a 'little' noise as the new pads bed in but this should only be for a few miles. Was this a BMW service centre?
 
It's not right and I've never seen it or heard it in a lifetime of messing with care, but the noise you describe is likely coming from the servo.

Pure guesses but I'd say either the rotors/disks were badly lipped and thus the pads are not seated correctly, wrong pads, air in the system, or something is wrong with the servo.

When you turn the engine off is the 'blowing' each time you press the brake pedal or does it discharge itself? If itself the servo is leaking.
 
It was not the BMW service center. My car is 2003 and w/o warranty so i used one of the NAPA service centers.. before they have changed the brakes there were no problems with brakes, i guess I will go back and talk to the manager this Monday so they would double check everything.
When i turn on the engine the noise appears right away. And when i press the brake pedal the more i push the pedal, at the same rate the noise disappears and up to the point when there is no noise at all. When i turn of the engine noise in about 5 secs disappears by itself like you turned off a vacuum cleaner. But if i again push the brakes there is no noise at all even in those 5 seconds. Im sure it has something to do with the booster but what, could they damage the servo while changing the pads? All the did is changed the front brake pads with sensors... If it is the servo how much would it be to fix it? Thnx again.

NAPA - BMW? Are you crazy :rofl:
 
I just personally know the manager and it is rated as one of the best service centers in LA,its where i live.... so thats where i usually service my cars...
