Having had my pride and joy of the past 5 years written off a few weeks ago (Honda Integra Type-R)
I've decided that I deserve something with a little more class and a fair wedge more torque (!), so after a few trips out in a friends Z4M I've ended up here and settled on a Z4!
I've been lurking around the forums for a week or so reading all the buyers guides, FAQ's etc and have decided that I'll be after a pre-facelift model, 2.5 ltr with heated seats as a minimum. Other 'wants' like steering wheel controls and wind deflector I'm happy to retro fit afterwards. Are electric mirrors standard as well or do I need to keep an eye out for them? ...I may JUST be able to fit it in the garage with those!
Only thing worrying me at the moment is the thought of the roof motor going. I can't really see there's a way to check the condition of this before buying a car though? Presumably just buying based on condition, service history, and crossing fingers is all you can really do?? :? Obviously you only get the horror stories posted (and the self repair guide seems a bit daunting!), is it a really common problem or should I just stop worrying about it and get on with buying one?!
EDIT: Also, if there's any advice on where to look other than Autotrader and Pistonheads it would be appreciated. Based in Reading, Berks, working in Marlow.
Cheers!
