Been a while. Went to leave frame work yesterday and when I turn the key I get all my lights. Power to the fuel pump. I've tried both keys and tested the battery. Help me out by throwing some thing that have cause a no start for you. All-data gives us very little information to use. I'm real bummed. First no start in 10 years.

Evening...

1. so is there any clicking noise when you turn the key (jammed starter motor)?
2. Do the light flicker when you turn the key?

You say you've tested the battery, though cars need 12v to run especially with the immobiliser, as I had a car where the battery was on the way out & because the immobiliser had a sensor to detect electrical drop attacks, it wouldn't deactivate.

Although the fuel pump has power it could still have malfunctioned. Had an e36 coupe that wouldn't start, got the aa out and had to give the pump a whack and it started. Had to stop twice on the way home and do it again. Changed the pump for about £90 and all was well.

Another time it wouldn't start it was the spark plugs. Got a mechanic out, replaced them and she fired up.

Could be neither but thought I'd share my experience in case it helps.

All of the lights cycle as normal. The battery is less than a year old and I am an auto technician by trade. So I've hooked up our snap-on solus scanner and our midtronics battery tester and done a charging test. I also replaced the clutch interlock switch last year.

I have also checked all fuses dealing with the clutch switch, brake lights, ignition switch. I don't see a where the starter relay is. I know there is a relay box by the brake booster under the hood.

I turn the key and absolutely nothing happens as far as cranking goes. Like I wasn't pressing the clutch in.
