no spare key

My new z4 does not have spare key....previous owner could not find it.
Is there anyway I can get one done without going to the stealers.
I'm in Scotland

Don't think so , but could be wrong , someone with superior knowledge will no doubt help out with this one , good luck .

There maybe one other person who can do this for you as he sells different styles of keys such as Bentley which some on here have bought for their Z4. Search on here for Bentley key and you should find it.

try here...

BMKeys is worth an inbox/email and see if he can help :)

Have a word with your nearest Independent - mine put me on to a guy who created a key for my previous 2 litre for much less than a BMW replacement.

From what I have read on Pistonheads BM Keys can do them but he needs to have the car present to programme them, and he is in East London (UK not South Africa, but still a long way from the OP).

Wouldn't hurt to ask though in case there is another way - good luck!

You can send the EWS module and existing key to BM Keys (Ben) and he can make a copy - doesn't need to have the car.

The EWS is located in the drivers footwell - just above the throttle pedal - It's a white box about the size of a cigarette box. One panel (3 screws) to be removed. The EWS is held in place with a couple of nuts - it should be a case of unplugging.
I'm going to get a couple of spare keys made in the winter so was doing a bit of homework on it.

I used BMKeys & met the guy in person - bit of a nightmare to reach his house, but can certainly vouch for the fells
