Used to be on a weekly basis whilst a few folk got their Tesco shopping delivered even though there is a Tesco Superstore about 500 yards away! This below happened from the start of December to the start of February. They stopped for a couple of days at Xmas but that was it they even were there at weekends. Our cars are parked directly below and can't be seen due to the angle but I just couldn't believe it. Every day!
I cannot stand the people with disability badges that think that means that they can park where they want. One guy with a A6 round here parks over a give way at a junction but they can't move him supposedly because of his blue badge. I've also seen an old boy arguing with a guy in a wheel chair as he parked up to go in to the newsagents. He parked over the dipped part of the pavement for crossing. The guy in the car said I can park there because I've got a blue badge and contributed to shout as he wondered off leaving the guy in a wheel chair unable to cross the road. Luckily I was around to offer assistance but I just thought what a cnut. A blue badge means f the lot of you. It's supposed to aid people but because they don't actually consider where they park they maybe effecting the wider population. Clearly not all blue badge holders do this but some just have that mentality and no regard for others, but then so do people without blue badges too!
, I bet the owner of the Diahatsu Copen has no problems Denis O said:Total over reaction to what is a fairly minor issue.
Suggestion of scratching the guys cars or putting nails/screws under the tyres is a bit rich from the same people who go mental when someone's car on here gets deliberately scratched. Everyone is up in arms and rightly saying the perp should have his hands copped off. To then suggest the same treatment should be meted out because someone has parked overhanging the path, is just a tad hypocritical don't you think. Maybe it's acceptable because the car in question is not a BMW![]()
You've spoken with the guy and he's moved his van so you're no longer inconvenienced by his van parked on the road. Job done I would say.

+1 They do my head in as well, they think the blue badge means that the normal highway code doesn't apply to them, they park in some really dangerous places at junctions![]()

So let's all go and scratch their cars then, eh? Because, of course, people that do that have Einstein type brains don't they![]()
bluestreak56 My comments about scratching cars are obviously a joke and I have never / would never do so. [/quote said:It is now, because someone has taken you to task over it.
Nothing in your original comments suggested it was a joke. That's what smilies are for.

pvr said:nightyard, I am not agreeing with the parking on the path. I am just saying that if it is not illegal, there is little you can do about it by informing the council.
I don't even understand how you get on the path without scraping the alloys ….

nightyard said:I think we can all agree that the owner could have parked in a better location, like maybe between the two driveways maybe slightly up the kerb to allow cars room to pass but with plenty of room for pedestrians to safely pass also.
AIUI, while driving on the pavement is illegal, the police can only take action if they have actually witnessed the offence, as if someone pushed (or claims that they pushed) their car onto the pavement they haven't committed an offence (as long as it's not causing an obstruction)nightyard said:RE: highway code, technically you do have to drive on the footpath to park on it.....which makes it an offence, police only usually fine someone for this if they have received complaints about the particular vehicle![]()
