No seatbelt light or beep?

Ok got a 53 plate Z4 3.0 and I tested the seatbelt warning the other day and nothing happened!? I.e driving along I undid my seatbelt and I got no beeps or even a light on the dash? I’m sure all cars in the last 10 years had to have a dash light at least? Could something have been disconnected?

My mates 57 coupe beeps if either driver or passenger unplug their belt.

Mine gives a light when starting only, lasting for 10 sec. No beeps at all. Neither if I undo the belt.

I dont think you have a problem.

The steady beep & light is on models after 2006 (I think).

Seem te recall testing this myself, only bleeps when you start a journey, if you remove the seatbelt later no beep.

My 2003 model bleeps :headbang:

Ok can some of you with pre 2006 cars do me a favour, next time your driving and have been for a bit etc, then unplug the belt and see if anything happens? Just do it for 10 seconds. Thanks

I only noticed as I took mine off to tuck my shirt under it properly.

OK. 2lt 6/2005 : Just checked and it is said before.

When starts there is the light for some seconds and thats it. No beeps at all. After that, light swiches off and not comes back neither if I remove the belt later on.

Just thought: May be it has to do with the rules in each country. Since 2006 in Greece also there is strong beep and light to all cars when belt is not in place.

My 2.2 gives u a few hundred yards when u set off before beepin and eventually stops (found this in a crpark looking for a space.) If u take them off moving they come on after 10 secs or so!

Tested mine last night. Light followed by beeping after a few seconds of driving off. After driving for a while and unclipping the seatbelt, no light or beeping. 2003 model.
