How old where you guys when you got your first ticket? And how fast where you going! :P
Btw I'm not sure what 135mph is for you guys but I'm sure you know. Ha it was a straight away and a smooth road and a Z4 it's an amazing combination what can I say?

Well in the Uk it is 135mph and probably a 2 year ban from driving!! We don't have empty open roads so it would be very antisocial!! Never done any thing like it myself :?

How much was you fine ? :police:

Our roads aren't like yours at all, and as previously mentioned 135mph on our Motorways, even if they were clear, would get you a hefty fine, driving ban and probably prison.

A few years back we had a trip to the Nurburgring and drove back from there to the French Port of Calais in 3 1/2 HRS, that's 350 miles, there were 8 911's, 2 TVR's and a Lotus Esprit, I was in my old 911 :driving:

135mph ... on that road in your pic.... you must be nuts/idiotic/stupid/irresponsible (plese delete)

im no stranger to speed but at least do it on a sensible road.

my tickets were 95 and 93. M56 goingt o macnhester airport. same day, same copper, same camera, just different directions. 2x 3point fixed penalty notices and 2x £60 fine. i was lucky 96 ad i would have been sent to court. so potentially 9 points, much bigger fine and any other conviction they could get to stick so maybe dangerous driving etc. i was lucky.

Go abroad and do it :D French motorways are perfect for that.

Firstly, be warned they are now using unmarked cars with onboard cameras:

Secondly at that speed if caught your car will be impounded - don't pay the fine or collect it will be crushed.

Your choice:

The rules and penalties are different by state right?

What do you get stiffed with? Must have been 4+ points and a godawful fine...

1984......Suzuki GS1000S......A12 3 lane carriage way........122 MPH average clocked by a Vascar equipped policecar......14 day ban and a £90 fine I still feel I was very lucky but prison wasnt the norm back then though a longer ban was , clean license may have helped, grovelling in court certainly did.....Oh and 3 points.

It's your choice if you speed and you suffer the consequence if you get caught or if you have an accident. I don't know if the 125 mph on the road where you were caught was safe to do so I pass no judgement there. Just remember that it's the deceleration that kills you, you are not immortal, and the chances of you surviving a blowout or losing control at 125mph on a public road is practically zero.

My only comment is that your speedo has an in built error so you maybe reading 135 mph but your actual speed would be lower hence the ticket speed of 125 mph.

here in holland, you'll probably loose your license for at least a couple of month's and probably a probation of several years and you'll get a fine of more than 2k euro's .

To quote a phrase :poke:

yup i know... as i had changed direction it classed as 2 different offenses so i couldnt even try the ongoing offense claim. I spoke to the police man who was operating the camera about it. he was the one who told me that if i had been doing 96 that day i would have been summoned. so i heeded his warning of "wind your neck in, take the points, drive slower" now i do and the points have long since gone from the licence.

there is a big difference between 96 and 135 tho

I was followed for ages by a 335d late one night on the M4. I thought we were having fun as we were the only cars on the road...
When this unmarked police car eventually stopped me, the cop told me that we had averaged 108mph over the previous five miles  He told me that exceeding 96mph should be a mandatory court appearance where I would be charged with dangerous driving for exceeding 100mph (so a criminal offence not a driving offence leading to a criminal record as well as a ban and hefty fine) or I could take it on the chin and accept 3 points and a £60 fine. He also told me to stick to 85mph like everyone else!
I was very lucky....
