No longer for sale

Selling my Gruppe M simply because since fitting some Remus back boxes I prefer just the back boxes on their own.

The Gruppe is as new, no marks or scratches, will come with the MAF adaptor mount, O ring seal, torx Allen key and a bottle of K&N oil spray for the filter, although I oiled it prior to fitting and have only done about 300 miles with it on.

Price is £600 collected from Baslow Nr Bakewell in the Peak District or £650 posted.

As per forum rules no PM’s without stating interest on this page first please.

Thanks for reading.

Interesting decision John....how have you been finding the noise of the Remus boxes? If I were modding again I’d go with the Gruppe and keep a quiet set of boxes.

It was an easy decision tbh Angelus...as soon as I drove away with the Remus fitted I wanted to take the Gruppe off and hear the Remus on their own, it sounded as if the Gruppe was drowning out the back boxes which as you know have a nice deeper burble than stock, no drone and a furious tone at high revs. I guess it comes down to personal preference of induction or exhaust, both together doesn’t work for me personally.

x2 , opting for exhaust noise over induction is pure barryboys stuff :P

If I remember correctly you said exactly the same thing Andy, that the Gruppe outshone the exhaust hence you sold yours... :poke:

Aaaand...how many sets of rear boxes have you had made over how many Gruppe’s have you had....? :P

Hmmmm no i didn''t  what i have said is after trying boxes & Gruppe & both together i would never go for both again & my choice would be induction noise with backboxes that looked better than stock but didn't sound lairy
Selling a Gruppe in favour of chavboxes is about the worst modding on a M i can recall in 8 yrs but if that suits you then crack on , ive never been a fan of stock M boxes , i removed them from all 4 ///Ms ive owned & would do so again so i totally get why you are smitten

I was chatting to another M owner a couple of weeks ago and we got around to talking about intake mods.

My car has Powerflow rear boxes and I love how it sounds with them so I said I wouldn't want that to potentially be drowned out.

Anyway GLWTS.

They don’t go together to me Mr T, the Gruppe is fantastic but overhauls the exhaust at higher revs. Lkke I say depends which you prefer.

How is having an exhaust note much richer and deeper, louder than stock ‘Chav’ which you’ve had, but an induction hiss that’s pretty mental isn’t...?

Only a man who’s never heard the Remus back boxes would describe them as chavvy.
Besides, if loudness is the criterion you’re applying to quantify “chav”, the GruppeM intake is markedly louder. In fact, almost as loud as the cone filter found on a typical seventeen year old’s shitbox chav chariot hooning around a housing estate, albeit somewhat more pleasant a sound.
You must be keen to get an electric car, I hear they’re much more rewarding to drive without all that unseemly noise. Such a shame my socioeconomic class condemns me to driving a car with both induction and exhaust mods :poke:

It’s all relative, anyway. I still can’t hear anything after listening to Fishy Dave leave the Ace Cafe a couple of years ago in full ASBO mode.

Does this fit the non M 3.0 si as wellnornisnit M specific?

Thanks,

Jon

99% sure it won’t Jon, different intake duct to your air box, smaller in diameter plus the position.

Thanks for the Interest though.

Morning JonLeeper

I think you'll find, the GruppeM that the OP is advertiising, is specifically for a Z4M 3.2 vehicle..

However, here is a link to the GruppeM site and you can buy direct from the manufacturer in Japan:
https://www.gruppemdirect.com/collections/bmw/z4-e85-e86_3-0l

Cheers

Evening, John-89

Surprised, this almost new GruppeM - off your Z4MR has not sold in the last 48hrs.. As, they come up so rarely and normally sell quite quickly..

I've pondered about a GruppeM for my Z4MR and chased a few in the process..
I too, have Remus back boxes fitted..

For transparency, on this thread - of the OP:
I'd like to offer £525 collected (which, would not be for a few weeks, as we're away overseas currently etc - but, I'm happy to immediately BACS / PayPal a decent, holding deposit over).

Cheers, Paul..

Thanks for the offer Paul. I’m in discussion with Kernow-Z4 but I’ll bear your offer in mind. Thanks again.

Many thanks for the reply John..

For clear transparency once again, I will refresh my initial offer - to the full ask, of £600....

Cheers, Paul..

Shame your selling it so quickly mate, enjoyed it on my car. Just for the future buyer, the intake is in great nick and was only on mine at a few years before selling to John. I bought it from japan.
