Just an update for those who were following this...
So after my seemingly many stalled attempts at selling my M via this thread, its finally going. I'm consolidating to a single car for the foreseeable future and put a deposit on an M135i on Saturday after borrowing the dealers demo car for a few hours and being impressed by it as an all round proposition. I was looking at getting an M4, but the other half was made redundant recently and with the M4 deals not being particularly good yet I've pcp'd an M135i for a couple of years.
I agreed a PX price for the M if it comes to it, but I took a deposit today from the chap who made contact via work who viewed the car a few weeks ago when i was pushing it for sale. He has until the end of May to complete the deal, he has some loose ends to sort out before he can complete, but he doesn't think it will be a problem, and he knows if he doesn't complete by the time the M135i is looking to be close to delivery it gets offered to another chap who expressed some serious interest but didn't view yet, and if he can't complete/doesnt want it, it goes to the dealer as a PX which I'm obviously hoping doesn't happen....
Mixed emotions really, still love the M and will always have a soft spot for it, but i've never really managed to gel with it in the way i'd hoped, mainly due to time constraints and the constant requirement for more space than the M affords and hence lack of use.....
Anyway, I've mentioned the forum to the chap who's buying it so he may show up on here at some point, although he claims to be a technophobe and was even asking about reconnecting the cd changer instead of the intravee.... as he doesn't have an iPod, but has loads of CD's....
well, ladles and jelly spoons its been a pleasure, i can't imagine i will have much cause to visit the forum much after the car has gone, but if the new owner does turn up i know you will look after him

I'm glad you're getting everything moving, sounds like one of those things that's got to be done :-( I'm surprised, very surprised that people didn't physically snap your hand off for this when you were sure about selling it.

Tom - yes, it was a little quiet, perhaps nobody believed me that i would actually sell it after my previous dalliances into the idea of selling..... I had more interest via word of mouth locally than via the forum to be honest. I could have gone down the trader/PH route, but happily haven't needed to in the end. I should have sold it last year as i had what i can only describe as an "orderly queue" when i suggested i *might* sell it...... all those guys had since bought M's already....
I'm sure i'll still pop into the forum, if only because its a force of habit....

At least, however, the new chariot will be almost as entertaining with that engine in it - scary sleeper for the uneducated! Stick about! Pics of it etc would always be good [emoji16]

yeah, the power train in the M135i is quite something. steering lacks feel coming from the M, but you soon tune into it.
