No illumination on dash and nothing on dash working

I've noticed that the green light showing when parking sensors are operating isn't showing and just realised that nothing on the dash blower seat heating or anything is working . Any clues ?.

I assume that you don't have idrive? Has the car been left standing for a while? Just a increased battery discharge, I'm sure that's what it says on the idrive would cause this as Z4M-3006 has advised. Basically when the battery is low it tries to reserve power and won't operate the heater/air con etc until the battery is functioning with a decent charge.

Spoke to vines bmw guildford and car goes in next Wednesday for investigation. A faulty ecu has been guestemated so I hope it's covered by warranty. !!
Will post out findings .

It will have a 30 mile round trip on Sunday so that should charge it . I realise I didn't mention that service shows on start but it's not long had one ???

Maybe thats a side effect of battery going low on voltage ?

Seriously,if you have a battery charger, give it a slow charge overnight... Nothing to lose..

Also..... you could try a reset of the control module.... You need to disconnect BOTH battery leads and then touch the leads together briefly, this flattens all the caps in the cars modules.

Reconnect and see if the controls and lights work... Again, nothing to lose..

Edit...

By the way.... do you start the car by pressing brake, then hitting the start button ? If so,reverse the process.......press the button and then press the brake to start the car.. In the US they call it "T" fix and can sort out all kind of electrical issues......

Do you mean fix the battery charger direct to the battery in the boot or is there a convenient place I e plug under the bonnet ?.

You are supposed to charge from the bonnet lugs....

To do the module reset, you will need to access the battery.......

Tried trickle charging over night and then a runout on Sunday but still had fan coming on and off intermittently etc so it's booked into dealer tomorrow so we will see if it's ecu and more so if the approved used car warranty will cover it ??.

New ecu fitted under warranty yesterday.so far so good. Decided to continue with bmw warranty as that would have been a costly repair.
