I did it 2 weeks ago, Doctor says 6 weeks in back brace with a further 4 off heavy lifting. I can feel it getting moderately better but unfortunately in the mean time there is nothing i can do but sit on my silly ass and do nothing, as moving around too much will compromise the healing process. Ive chipped a piece of bone clean off and got myself a lateral fracture of L1 vertebrae, hopefully it'll knit back together ok, with a 100% recovery possible. Fingers crossed.
DrNick said:Ouch! Sounds like reasonable advice - i trust it was from a spinal surgeon. I did a few months neuro/spinal surgery and avoiding an operation is a good thing if possible so heed his advice and give it the best chance of healing. (BTW if you smoke (sorry to accuse you if you dont!!), stop immediately as smoking greatly compromises healing - as well as everything else!).
Hope you feel better soon
:x give up! Am I really going to say anything else?! (and before you say, I know a load of Drs smoke!)I do smoke
