No automatic "up" on driver side window

Driver side window will go all the way down automaically, but won't go all the way up automatically...have to hold button in up position to do that. Passenger side window functions automatically up/down as it should. Tried holding button for about 15 seconds while in full up position, but that didn't seem to help. Only thing I can think of is that I recently diconnected the battery for about 15 minutes.

Did you follow the full reset procedure?

Hmm, wonder if this would "fix" my overly sensitive one-touch up? Mine works properly *IF* there is absolutely no change in voltage---like turning off the engine while the window is in process of going up, or even if you start the window up then drive off as when entering a parking garage. Drives me nuts.Window goes up, then reverses when you make the change.

No, just a partial reset. Got the full reset (Ron S's great post from another forum: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130986&highlight=power+windows+initializing+z4+from+04+2004)

Can't try now, but will later.

EDIT: sorry, Overkill, didn't see the link you posted...

Mine does this to, I make a point of not turning enigne off now when raising windows, otherwise it will go back down as you say.

This happened to mine a few months ago and I had to fit a new motor. The fault was a burnt out module which is built into the motor assembly.

Tried everything. First did initalizing, but that didn't work. Then de-initialized and re-initalized. Didn't work. In fact, there were times that the driver side window didn't work, period. Had to turn car off and on again to get it to work. Still under warranty and will go to stealership

Hmmm, neither of mine would one touch up, both would do down.

Did the quick one and now the drivers will one touch both ways, but the passenger one is still only one down...

When these instructions say to press the up/down button, is that to full deflection, or part deflection, or does it make a difference?

Also, do I need to setup the passenger one touch from the passenger controls, or will using the drivers one do the job for both!?

Thanks

Dave

Can't answer your questions, Dave, but you may have a good point about which up/down buttons to use. I used both buttons on the driver's side. To late now to try with the buttons on each door. Although, I must say that I thinkit is OK to use the driver's buttons.
